Is my Mobile Phone Listening????

About 18 months back I posted a thread, cannot recall the subject wording but it involved a group of ex colleagues  having lunch, during the meet we discussed the old TV series, Thunderbirds.  No searches were done on mobile phones, it was just a conversation.  Later that evening on my youtube suggestions was a video about Thunderbirds.

Although it sets the mind wondering I accepted it was mere coincidence - Or was it?

A friend last week visited Guernsey, over breakfast with my daughter I casually mentioned that Guernsey was a British Island but not part of the UK and not ruled by the UK Government.  I likened it to Jersey and Isle of Man.

Later that day I viewed Youtube and quite eerily a suggested video titled 3 British Islands That Aren't Actually Part Of The UK and the three islands mentioned were Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man.

The three actual islands I mentioned, how weird is that?

Ewww....that just is too coincidental, isn't it?  That's pretty interesting on two different occasions somehow the subjects you were discussing came up later in YouTube on both occasions. OMG!

People have done experiments with brand new phones, no registering with Google etc and the evidence seems to suggest phones do not 'listen'.  Smart speakers listen so we are moving in to an era where voice commands will be the thing.

Spock was ahead of his time.

Good to know phones do not listen but it's the speakers that listen.  Either way, with a phone, you know it might be listening unless you've adjusted your settings, I guess?

Spock was always my favorite in the Original Star Trek.  Captain Kirk or Captain Picard lol?

Nooo, not Picard.  Kirk always associated with 'The Enterprise'.  Shatner could 'over act' sometimes but I found in some of the early Star Treks the storyline was great but acting a wee bit 'over the top'.  Shatner and Nimoy both grew into the parts, especially Nimoy.  Recall Scotty being a bit 'over acting' when he 'fell in love', can't recall how that ended.

Never got on with any of the sequels but must admit I did like the prequel 'Enterprise' with Capt Jonathon Archer.   All decent actors in the part.

Same here... Kirk was the BEST.  I'm so happy that William Shatner is still with us today.  He did have some funny acting moments, but overall, showed a lot of strength for a Captain.  When we learned that Scotty wasn't really "Scottish" we laughed so hard as we always thought he was really Scottish.  Same with Daniel Davis, as Niles in the "Nanny".  We always thought he was British and then learned he was born in Arkansas (lol) and his British accent was all an "act".  So funny!

STNG was so much more high drama.  We didn't get into any of the other franchise either, except tried Deep Space 9 but STTO is just the best even with their quirky made-up gadgets, it was authentic, however, the 60's was an influence as there are a few episodes in the Original Star Trek that were very groovy.
